The long awaited Tupac biopic will be heading to production early next year.
Seventeen years after his untimely death, Tupac Shakur will be resurrected onto the big screen in a new biopic.
It was announced earlier today that Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett Furla Films are in final negotiations to partner on the film entitled Tupac. Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, has signed on as executive producer. Tupac will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson, and LT Hutton along with Randall Emmett and George Furla.
The film is being reportedly budgeted for $45 million, and will cover the iconic artist’s rise to stardom. Neither an official cast nor director for the movie have been announced yet, but with production starting early next year, we should find out more info regarding a cast sooner than later.
Production for the film will take place in Atlanta, Georgia beginning February 2014.
