TBT – Shakira Talks Crossing Over to English

If you really know me you know that I am a BIG Shakira fan, I been following her music since her first album Piez Descalzos but I found this interview online and I wanted to share it because it was at a very special time in the Latin world. During this time the Latin music business was growing and Shakira like many other Latino artists were crossing over to english language recording. In this video, 21 year-old Shakira is still perfecting her english but you can feel her passion through her words. Aside from her unique style and amazing hips Shakira also writes all her music and she also talks about how important it is for her to not only sing but write her own music.

Personally, I think that Shakira’s spanish material is a whole lot more passionate but I think that’s the spanish language itself. Her english music is also great don’t get me wrong but hands down her spanish stuff is full of so many emotions and passion. Check out the interview and let us know what you think in the comments. Enjoy!
